FAQ

Q: What should I/my child bring to camp each day?

A: Come dressed in your rowing clothes with a full water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat having had a full breakfast. Lunch will be provided each day from the same company we use for all of our pre-race meals.

Q: What will the day look like?

A: Camp will start with a coach-led warmup before we get on the water for our morning row. Upon return to the boathouse, lunch will be served and kids will have time to rest. Following lunch, we will do film review or technical instruction on the rowing machine. We will finish with a shorter afternoon row each day. These are fun, full days designed to maximize your time on the water and growth in the sport!

Q: What happens if we can’t row?

A: Our staff constantly monitors weather conditions to make sure that temperatures, rain and lightning forecasts and air quality numbers are appropriate for having safe, productive, fun practices. If any weather-related issue does come up, we are extraordinarily fortunate to have the full use of the Burk-Bergman Boathouse and will simply shift our instruction and fun indoors for that session.

Q: Is there an overnight option?

A: No, campers are expected to show up each day at 8:30 am at the Burk-Bergman Boathouse ready to have fun and get rowing! There is not an overnight option for this summer’s camp.

Q: Is this camp intended for learn-to-row athletes?

A: We all got started somewhere in the sport! We love seeing younger athletes take their first strokes. This camp, however, is designed for campers with one semester or more of rowing experience with their high school or club team.

Camps/clinics are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade, level, and/or gender)
